We know navigating early intervention and the NDIS can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re already carrying a lot. Below are some of the questions families commonly ask when exploring support through Cove.

If your question isn’t answered here, you’re always welcome to get in touch.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

No, a doctor’s referral is not required to enquire or access services at Cove. Families can contact us directly to discuss their child’s needs and explore suitable support options.

In some cases, referrals or reports may be helpful for funding or planning purposes, and we can guide families on this during the enquiry process if needed.

Are you registered with the NDIS?

Cove Early Intervention Hub provides services that may be accessed using NDIS funding where appropriate. We support families with active NDIS plans, those preparing for planning or review meetings, and families who are still exploring eligibility.

If you’re unsure how your child’s plan applies, our team can help talk this through.

Is there a waitlist?

Availability can vary depending on the service and level of support required. As a new service, Cove currently has availability, however this may change over time.

We encourage families to enquire early so we can discuss current availability and suitable options for your child.

Does my child come to you for sessions?

Service delivery may look different depending on your child’s needs and the type of support being provided. This may include individual therapy, group programs or integrated early intervention supports.

We discuss how services are delivered during the enquiry process to ensure the approach is appropriate and supportive for your child and family.

What happens if I need to cancel a session?

We understand that family life can be unpredictable. Cancellation requirements and notice periods vary depending on the service and funding arrangements.

Specific details will be discussed with families once services are confirmed, so expectations are clear and transparent from the outset.

What is an early intervention key worker?

An early intervention key worker is a consistent point of contact who supports families throughout their early intervention journey. Key workers help coordinate services, support communication between professionals and assist families with planning, reports and decision-making.

This role is designed to reduce overwhelm and ensure families feel supported, informed and connected.

What NDIS funding line does my child need to access these services?

NDIS funding lines vary depending on the service provided, your child’s goals and their individual plan. Because plans differ, funding alignment is discussed with families on enquiry.

Our team can help you understand how your child’s funding may be used and what supports are most appropriate.
